After the required flight time has been met, the individual must then pass a written exam and a practical test in order to obtain their DGCA Ground Classes in India. The written exam covers topics such as aircraft performance, meteorology, navigation, and regulations. The practical test is conducted in an aircraft and covers takeoffs, landings, and other various maneuvers. Once the individual has passed both the written and practical exams, they will be issued their CPL. With a CPL, the holder is now able to fly for commercial purposes such as charter flights, aerial photography, crop dusting, etc.
